ACTING ON CAMERA for Amazing Adults- DS -Workshop Week – July 21, 2025

Join us for this fun filled, comprehensive “On Camera” acting WORSKSHOP for AMAZING Adults (Down Syndrome)

Runs daily 10am-1pm, July 21-25, 2025

This week long workshop will concentrate on the FOUNDATIONS of acting with a specific focus as it applies to TV & Film; character, relationship, camera shots, frame, camera angles, eyelines, continuity and pacing.

Students (and parents) will also learn the BASICS of understanding the call sheet, navigating the set and what and where is “Circus”.  Additional information will outline the many departments that work on set, as well as a list of common phrases and terminology used during shooting and on set.

Students will then be able to put their new skills into action by rehearsing and performing various roles within a short script that will be filmed for viewing and review by the entire class.

We will also be informing students and their team about what is needed to start their career in the industry and how to navigate the journey.  This includes understanding headshots, resumes, training, special skills, auditioning and interviews as well as working as a  background performer(BG).

-Character “types” and roles

-Story elements and genres

-Scenes and scripts

-Auditions and Slates

-The Film Set; Who’s who, departments, crew, equipment, “circus”, terminology and etiquette.

Weekly classes will include theatre style warmups, acting exercises, discussion of movies, shows and scenes and on camera work for students.
