ACTING ON CAMERA for Amazing Adults

Join us for this fun filled, comprehensive “On Camera” acting COURSE for AMAZING Adults (Down Syndrome)

Runs Mondays 10am-1pm.

This weekly class will concentrate on the FOUNDATIONS of acting on camera, with a specific focus as it applies to TV & Film, as well as the JOB of the actor working on set. Actors will also learn the art of AUDITIONS and SLATES.

Students (and parents) will learn the BASICS of understanding the call sheet, navigating the set and what and where is “Circus”.  Additional information will outline the many departments that work on set, as well as a list of common phrases and terminology used during shooting and on set.

Students will then be able to put their new skills into action by rehearsing and performing various roles within a short script that will be filmed for viewing and review by the entire class.

And with all this new knowledge, the actors will then learn the craft of AUDITIONS on camera. Auditions are the essential element of “trying out” for the part and show the director, producer and casting department your “look”, your “type” and your ability to show convey the character within the story. It takes all actors many, many auditions to land their first role, so getting good at it is essential to the craft of a working actor.

Weekly classes will include theatre style warmups, acting exercises, discussion of movies, shows and scenes and on camera work for students.
